The Cellar Trust announces leadership transition

The Cellar Trust today announces that CEO Kim Shutler MBE will be leaving the organisation at Christmas to take up the role of Director of Integration for Bradford, as part of West Yorkshire ICB.

Kim has led The Cellar Trust for 12 years, during which time the charity has grown significantly, strengthened its partnerships and expanded its impact across the District. The organisation remains in a strong and stable position, with a clear strategy, a committed leadership team and a continued focus on delivering high-quality mental health and crisis support for people across Bradford and beyond.

Heather Tattersall, currently Deputy CEO, will step into the role of Interim CEO for 12 months. Heather has been part of The Cellar Trust for 17 years and brings significant experience, continuity and a deep commitment to the organisation and its values.

Kim Shutler, CEO said: “It has been the greatest privilege of my career to lead The Cellar Trust. After 12 years, leaving is an incredibly difficult decision, but I do so knowing the organisation is the best shape it has ever been with a brilliant team and a clear vision for the future. I’m looking forward to the next chapter and to continuing to work in Bradford. I’ll also have the opportunity to champion something The Cellar Trust has always been passionate about: better integration and bringing people and services together around the needs of our communities.”

Anthony Waddington, Chair of Trustees said: “It has been wonderful working with Kim and seeing the impact of her leadership over the past 12 years. While we will be very sorry to see her leave, I am delighted that she is staying in Bradford. The organisation is in a strong position and I am confident we will manage that transition well. Kim leaves with our enormous thanks for everything she has contributed to The Cellar Trust, and our very best wishes for her new role which is an important one in health and care at a time where people and communities are experiencing real challenges.”

Heather Tattersall, Interim CEO said: “Having worked at The Cellar Trust for 17 years: most recently as Deputy CEO, I know our organisation, our people and our partnerships well. I’m pleased to step into the Interim CEO role and will provide continuity and a clear focus on our services, our people and the communities we support during this period.”
