Trust Therapies

Psychological Therapies support

Psychological therapies aims to help you become emotionally and psychologically well. We do this by working with you to explore and develop a range of coping mechanism to overcome emotional challenges.

We believe that the way we work is important. Your relationship with your therapist is at the core of this. Mutual respect and confidentiality are essential, as well as your need to feel listened to and not judged. All our therapists are qualified practitioners with membership to recognised regulatory bodies. Trust Therapies as a whole also holds membership with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and we meet their standards for ethical practice.

Whatever the challenges you face, we want you to arrive at a place of acceptance, move forward and begin to heal.

In 2023-24...

we supported 1,270 people overcome challenges through 5,506 sessions of support.

99% of the people we surveyed said they would recommend the service.

91% of people surveyed reported an excellent improvement in wellbeing.

We have delivered 43% more sessions this year, in part due to our successful student programme.

“The person I was when I had my first session to now, is completely different. I owe my therapist more than she could ever know.”

Aisha, Trust Therapies client

Achieved my goal of feeling more emotionally stable. I’m more aware of triggers and using techniques to calm my nervous system

Bea, Trust Therapies client

I felt heard and able to talk through experiences and have been able to identify how I see things and how I process them and was helpful having someone to help identify that. Gained guidance in helping me know its not all my fault.

Neil, Trust Therapies client

Very beneficial, really good to know I had a space to process things, I have found myself being much more open with others.

Abdul, Trust Therapies client

My counsellor was lovely, I felt able to say all sorts of things to her, she really got me . I hadn’t realised how nastily I spoke to myself until I came to counselling, I’m learning and practising to be kind to myself.

**Please note: Trust Therapies holds membership to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. We align our values to their ethical framework; assessing what our service can offer against the needs of the individuals we support. In most cases, we can offer therapeutic assistance, however, there are some instances where it may be in the best interest of the individual seeking support to signpost or forward refer to a partner organisation. This is because we are a short-term, non-specialist provider and, as such, individuals with complex trauma or significant mental health difficulties may benefit from support from organisations that offer longer term, specialist therapeutic intervention. Individuals may also be signposted to their GP.**

If you are unsure whether the above applies to you, or you would like to proceed with the referral, please complete the referral form and a member of our team will be in touch to confirm if we are able to proceed. We may also offer an initial assessment to collect more information in making a collaborative decision on the best next step for you.
